Employees from Gloucester-based specialist financial services group, Benefact Group, volunteered to tidy up and improve a neglected green space near its headquarters at Gloucester Business Park

Working with Hucclecote Parish Council, Benefact Group employees helped to clear away weeds and brambles and planted wild flowers seeds and daffodil bulbs near Pineholt Village Hall.

The Group has also worked with Hucclecote Parish Council to provide benches for the local community to enjoy. In 2019, employees also cleared weeds and brambles and planted daffodil bulbs along a pathway which is visible from its offices.

Chris Pitt, Group Impact Director at Benefact Group, said: “As a local employer with a purpose to contribute to the greater good of society, we care about our local environment. We’re committed to giving back and investing in improving our local community. We’re delighted to be working with Hucclecote Parish Council to continue to improve the local area for everyone to enjoy.”

David Bentley, Parish Councillor at Hucclecote Parish Council, said: “Hucclecote Parish Council are once again most grateful for the magnificent contribution made by Benefact Group volunteers. So much was achieved during the day and parishioners and Business Park employees will be able to enjoy both the spring bulbs and colourful wild flower beds next spring and summer. The wild flowers will also help to increase the numbers of pollinating insects.”

Benefact Group staff gave nearly £400,000 to good causes in 2021 through personal grants and matched donations for fundraising and payroll giving as part of the company’s ‘MyGiving’ scheme.
