Nuneaton-based shower manufacturer Triton Showers has been awarded carbon neutral certification for the second year running, marking another important step on the company’s journey to becoming Net Zero by 2035.

The accreditation has been awarded by Planet Mark, an internationally recognised sustainability certification.

It covers Triton’s Scope 1 and 2 emissions, as well as business travel, water consumption, waste, employee commuting, and paper usage for its UK and China operations in the 2022/23 financial year, all in accordance with PAS 2060:2014.

The carbon neutral certification is testament to Triton’s continuous commitment to sustainability, which is underpinned by its 'For a Cleaner Conscience' brand positioning, with the business activating new projects, as well as nurturing existing initiatives.

As part of this commitment, Triton has invested in verified VERRA offsets equivalent to its total measured carbon footprint, including one scheme that meets all seventeen of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

Triton has also installed a new HVAC system at the business headquarters and rolling out electric vehicles (EV) across Triton’s fleet – helping to reduce its Scope 1 and 2 carbon footprint by 4.6 per cent the previous year.

David Tutton, Managing Director at Triton Showers, said: “The Climate Change Committee recently revealed that the UK is no longer a world leader in sustainability, meaning it's more important than ever for businesses to step up and take environmental responsibility. As Britain’s number one shower manufacturer we are committed to tackling carbon emissions, leading the industry by example.”

“The results of our offsetting initiatives and accreditation from Planet Mark confirming Triton’s targeted trajectory for Net Zero by 2035 is an incredibly meaningful achievement for all employees and partners. However, our brand is far from resting on its laurels, we will continue to take continuous initiatives related to our Net Zero commitment.”

Steve Malkin, CEO and Founder of Planet Mark, said: “Planet Mark is delighted to be working with Triton Showers, and are especially pleased with their carbon neutral certification achievements.

"Their commitment to becoming a more sustainable business is testament to their devotion to contributing to a more sustainable world. Triton Showers is a shining example of sustainability in their industry, and I look forward to working with them in the years to come.”
