Enviromena appoints clean energy expert as head of legal

Berkshire-based clean energy firm Enviromena has welcomed Thornton Allen as its new head of legal.
Thornton joins from green hydrogen development specialist Protium and has previously served as legal counsel to Clean Earth Energy, where he supported onshore wind farm development in Scotland and both ground mounted and rooftop solar projects.
Earlier, during the peak of the feed-in tariff years, he played a key role in advising the company now known as British Solar Renewables as it acquired various solar farm sites.
On the new role, Thornton said: “I find it incredibly rewarding to be part of a project from its inception through to its operational phase, ensuring it’s legally sound at every step.
“Enviromena’s commitment to delivering innovative, sustainable energy solutions aligns perfectly with my experience and passion for the renewables sector.
“I’m excited to contribute to the company’s continued success and to play a key role in navigating the evolving legal landscape of clean energy.”
Chris Marsh, CEO of Enviromena, added: “Thornton brings a strong legal acumen and a deep understanding of the renewable energy sector, which will be invaluable as we expand our portfolio across the UK and Europe.
“His experience will play a critical role in ensuring our projects continue to meet the highest legal and regulatory standards while driving Enviromena’s mission to accelerate the clean energy transition.”
Enviromena currently has over 3GW of solar and battery storage projects in construction and development, as well as a growing portfolio of operational assets under management.
