Two Rivers Initiatives, part of the Two Rivers Housing Group, is making £90,000 available to charities and community groups in Gloucestershire.

The Two Rivers Initiatives Community Fund will be made available in tranches of £30,000 during 2021, with organisations able to apply for a grant of up to £5,000 for a specific project.

A report published earlier this year showed that demand for support from charities increased substantially throughout the pandemic. However, many charities saw a reduction in donations and funds, making it difficult for them to meet those additional demands.

Two Rivers Initiatives was specifically set up to provide funds to organisations that benefit the communities in which the Two Rivers Housing Group works. Since the beginning of the pandemic, these organisations have become a lifeline for many people across the region and have continued to support the most vulnerable in our communities.

The first £30,000 grant pot is available now and the deadline for applications is 30 April 2021. Any charity or community group that wishes to apply will find all the information they need on the Two Rivers Housing website: www.tworivershousing.org.uk/communityfund

The second £30,000 grant pot will be open for applications from 1 June 2021 and will close on 31 August 2021. The final £30,000 grant pot will be released from 1 October 2021 until 31 December 2021.

Two Rivers Housing Chief Executive, Garry King, said: “The pandemic has highlighted the important role that local charities and community groups play in supporting local people and communities. Our team have witnessed the difficulties people are facing first-hand and we’ve been doing everything we can to support our tenants throughout this difficult period.

“The Two Rivers Initiatives Community Fund gives us the ability to provide further support to the wider community. I am delighted that we have been able to launch it at a time when it will provide a significant benefit to local organisations that offer so much support across our area of operations”
