Edinburgh-based Spotless Commercial Cleaning Ltd (Spotless) has acquired Surrey-based Fluid Hygiene (FH), boosting the former's annual revenues to more than £34 million.
Fluid Hygiene, which specialises in cleaning in the hospitality sector, was founded by managing director Alister Gregson in 1993 and he joins Spotless as a non-executive director.
The FH brand will be retained for the foreseeable future.
It is Spotless's fourth acquisition with other deals already in the planning stage and increases its clients in its core market of professional and corporate offices and will create new opportunities within the hospitality sector.
The deal also boosts Spotless's employee headcount to more than 2,100 as FH’s senior management and 600 staff move to its network of 14 UK offices.
Spotless CEO Carron Henley noted: "This latest acquisition is an ideal fit as it builds our presence across South-East England, where FH has established a strong market share.
"Both companies have collaborated on national projects where we have discovered we share a close cultural alignment with a strong focus on people development. We will further develop this ethos as part of a larger group."
