Thursdays UK Limited, the company behind nationwide restaurant chain TGI Fridays, entered administration on 7 October.
Administrators immediately sold a number of locations and a further 35 have been closed, resulting in 1,012 redundancies.
The 51 remaining restaurants have been acquired by investors Breal Capital and Calveton Group, safeguarding 2,000 jobs.
Freeths advised both buyers on the deal with a team led by client partner John Jeffreys.
He said: “It was a pleasure to support key client Breal Capital and Calveton Group and to have led the Freeths team on this complex transaction.
“We wish TGI Fridays every success as it embarks on the next phase of the business with the support of fresh investment and expertise from Breal and Calveton.
“With thanks to Brent Osborne, Mick Welden, Toby Osborne and Sam Bevan at Breal and Sandeep Vyas at Calveton for putting their trust in us again to deliver this key acquisition for them.”
