Bournemouth: Ellis Jones in business law move
Ellis Jones has brought all its business law services under one department as part of a new initiative headed by chief executive Dr Dave Richards.
The 15-strong department is based at the law firm’s Charminster office in Bournemouth and deals with civil litigation, company commercial and employment issues.
Its formation is one of Richards’ first actions following his appointment as chief executive.
Other key members of the team include associates Anniina Davie, a company commercial specialist, and employment expert Lesley Walford.
Richards said the new business law department would synergise well with Ellis Jones’ other specialist teams covering commercial property; family, matrimonial and relationships; private client; residential conveyancing and personal injury.
“I regard business law as one of Ellis Jones’ key strengths which we plan to build on in the months and years ahead,” he said.
“We already act for businesses ranging from sole traders through to companies with multi-million pound turnovers. Our new business law department will enable us to offer further innovative services to both existing and future clients as well as focus relentlessly on providing client value.”
Nigel Smith, managing partner, said he had high expectations for the new business law department.
He added: “Dr Dave is regarded as one of the business community’s big hitters and we’re delighted he’s batting for us at the head of this new department.”
