BCMS has advised on the sale of Makara Health, a Wiltshire-based healthcare communications agency, to American company Precision Value & Health.

The value of the deal is as of yet undisclosed.

Makara Health specializes in providing scientifically robust programs and delivery solutions for its roster of healthcare client companies. Precision Value & Health partners with global life science companies to establish and communicate the clinical, economic, and humanistic value of innovative therapies.

This acquisition means that the team at Makara, founded in Salisbury in 2013, will be working closely with PRECISIONscientia – which is an agency that deliver scientific communications that interpret and translate the science of medicine.

Founder and CEO of Makara Health Louise Sharp said: “It was very important for us to align with the right company – one that shared our values and would ensure that Makara would continue to offer clients fresh and robust thinking from an experienced and talented team. We are excited to say that we have found this with Precision Value & Health, a company that shares our approach and our belief in the scientific story as the foundation of every pharmaceutical brand.’’

The move, which was overseen by a BCMS team led by Jim Whitaker, is set to expand Precision’s presence in Europe, reinforcing the company’s market growth position.
