Williams Jet Tenders scoops sustainability accolade at Boat Builder Awards
Oxfordshire's Williams Jet Tenders, which provides service vessels for yachts and other boats, has scooped the 'sustainability project of the year' award at the tenth anniversary edition of the Boat Builder Awards.
The accolade recognises boat builders and shipyards that implement changes to their business or production processes to reach measurable reductions in environmental impact.
The award ceremony was held at Amsterdam’s iconic National Maritime Museum.
The Oxfordshire-based firm was recognised for its multi-faceted sustainability programme - a pioneering initiative aimed at significantly reducing the company's environmental footprint.
Judges commended the firm for its comprehensive approach, including the publication of an annual sustainability report and the start of a full lifecycle assessments for its models.
“Winning the Sustainability Project of the Year award is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our team,” said owners Mathew and John Hornsby in a joint statement.
“At Williams, sustainability is a fundamental part of our mission and this award reinforces our resolve to lead the industry toward a more environmentally responsible future.”
The Boat Builder awards, co-organised by International Boat Industry (IBI) and METSTRADE, marked its anniversary by highlighting achievements in 11 categories, which spanned design, innovation, and environmental responsibility.
