A pet food company based in Henley-in-Arden in Warwickshire has raised more than £620,000 through the crowd-funding website Seedrs.

Percuro, which has developed a range of sustainable pet dog food, was seeking a target of £560,000, secured an extra 10 per cent above its target.

The pet food range, which launched in January 2021, saw sales growth of 136 per cent in April above its March sales target, and has now agreed products listings with key retailers in both the UK and Singapore.

Founder, Denise Saber, said: "“Feeding our pets inflammatory foods with high environmental global impacts is not an option. The genesis of Percuro, in searching for low carbon life-extending protein sources to feed pets, has centred around respect for our planet and delivering the very best nutrition for pets to thrive. Our team has created, what we believe, to be the very best insect protein pet food that money can buy.”

The company has created what it refers to as "the next-generation pet food for conscious pet parents, starring an innovative and sustainable protein source - insects."
