Family run business Unique Group, which provides fire safety, security, tech, electrical and energy solutions, has bolstered its presence across the South West with the acquisition of two established companies.

The company, which has offices in Poole, Winchester and Plymouth, said it has acquired Drewlec, a reputable electrical contracting company in Dorset with a history dating back to 1964, and ASG Security, a prominent player in the fire and security industry, which serves Devon and Cornwall.

On the Drewlec deal, it said it aligned with the company's "vision to provide comprehensive solutions and further strengthen its electrical services".

"We are delighted to welcome Drewlec to the Unique family. By combining Drewlec's expertise with our commitment to excellence, we aim to broaden our service offerings and create a stronger network of electrical solutions," said managing director of Unique Group Bradley Williams.

On the ASG security purchase, Craig Moore, commercial director of Unique Group, added: "This strategic move highlights our commitment to delivering exceptional fire and security solutions across the southwest.

"We look forward to extending our high standards of service to ASG's valued customers."

Under the leadership of Martin Singleton, ASG has built a legacy of trust and expertise, Unique said, adding that it pledged to continue the same values both Drewlec and ASG have held for many years and is retaining all electricians, engineers, and office staff from the two firms.

"On top of this, key personnel from the acquired companies, including individuals like Nick Hand and Martin Singleton, will remain pivotal in their operations, offering invaluable insights and nurturing client relationships," the firm said.
