A poll carried out by Yougov by the Times found that nearly two in five people preferred to work from home and didn’t want to return to the office.

Market research company YouGov carried out a survey on behalf of The Times and their findings concluded that around 71% of people wanted to work from home.

The survey also found that around 58% of pollers believed they would be more productive when working from home.

The aim of the poll, according to The Times, was to highlight the challenges employers are facing nowadays when trying to convince staff to come back to the office.

According to the poll, there are currently 63% of workers doing their tasks remotely. The Times reported that only 9% of people are physically coming into the office permanently.

Last week, the government said that they are “no longer asking people to work from home if they can.” Despite the recent advice only 26% of workers have returned - part time.

Meanwhile, there seems to be a difference of opinion between the government and voters. Around 74% of Conservative supporters said they preferred to work from home, while the Labour voters are as likely as Conservatives to prefer to work from home.
