Reading's Leep Utilities cheers 150,000th customer sign up
Reading-based Leep Utilities said it had signed up its 150,000th customer when it was appointed to own, maintain, and operate the clean and wastewater networks for Persimmon Homes' 160-home Long Lands View development in Yorkshire.
This is the latest of many projects to be awarded to Leep by the major housebuilder after it was recently named as a partner on its new appointments and variations (NAV) adoption framework.
NAVS are companies, which replace another water company as the appointee for an area and also provide water and/or wastewater services to customers in a defined area.
Louise Manfredi, CEO of Leep Utilities, said: "As the UK’s largest adoption-only NAV, we’re becoming an increasingly popular partner for residential and commercial property companies across the nation.
"As we’re not limited by geography, we’re able to operate more flexibly and work with developers to ensure the best commercial value is realised for them.
"The fact that we provide asset valuations that are in no way linked to design and build components always proves to be particularly popular amongst them - placing us in prime position to cut through the opaque pricing bundles of others, whilst maximising our customers’ supply chain value yet further."
Dean Wigley, group head of utility assets and engineering at Persimmon Homes, added: "At Persimmon Homes, we prioritise engaging with progressive partners who can embrace our ambitions as a business.
"The success of our communities depends on our approach to utilities management.
"Leep Utilities is a recently appointed water framework partner, and we’re delighted to sign off on yet another contract and to meet this milestone with them. I look forward to building on the strength of our collaboration for the years to come."
Leep Utilities is a joint venture between Ancala and The Peel Group formed in 2017 and offers integrated solutions for water, heat, cooling and electricity for commercial and residential sites across the UK.
It owns and operates regulated and non-regulated utility networks, including electricity, cold and hot water, heating and cooling with a portfolio of sites across the country, including Media City, Liverpool Waters and Canary Wharf.
