The long-term collaboration agreement between the two companies will continue.
Laura Shears, managing director of Pets’ Kitchen, said: "We have just opened our second, state of the art, ‘Vet’s Klinic’ veterinary practice in Reading and we have been seeking to divest our pet food division whilst maintaining an ongoing association.
"We are delighted that we can hand over the Vet’s Kitchen brand to Pets Choice and to continue with a collaboration agreement for the long-term benefit of both companies."
Debbie Brett and Adam Chalker, in Blandy & Blandy’s corporate and commercial team, acted for Pets’ Kitchen Ltd, supported by Tim Clark, a partner in the firm’s employment law team.
"We were delighted to work with Laura Shears and the Pets’ Kitchen team, and to advise on this important deal for the company alongside James Cowper Kreston," said Brett.
"I have no doubt that Pets’ Kitchen will continue to go from strength to strength and look forward to seeing the company’s further development of its clinical veterinary practice, Vet’s Klinic."
Vet’s Klinic was established in 2012 as part of Pets Kitchen Ltd and is now the largest single-site first opinion practice in Swindon, with a team of more than 30 veterinary professionals.
