Oxford Brookes University showcasing AI at week-long festival
Oxford Brookes University is showcasing artificial intelligence (AI) this week at its annual festival of the technology, exploring how AI can revolutionise schools and businesses.
On the first day (June 3) Fabio Cuzzollin, professor of AI at the university, unveiled the Oxford Brookes Institute for AI, Data Analysis and Systems (AIDAS), while on Tuesday (June 4), a ‘Schools Day’ highlighted the 32-month Knowledge Transfer partnership between the university and Blenheim Palace, which is working on transforming the historic estate into a ‘smart’ visitor attraction.

Pupils were shown how the venue uses AI to predict visitor numbers and their movements and how the estate plans on using AI to predict building issues.
Dr Paul Jackson, principal lecturer in information systems, analytics and operations Oxford Brookes business school and chair of Oxford Brookes AI and Data Analysis Network (AIDAN) said: “At Oxford Brookes University we want to be at the forefront of AI research and development, and this week-long festival will give us the opportunity to share these exciting advancements with the community. Through innovative partnerships like our collaboration with Blenheim Palace we can demonstrate how AI can revolutionise our world.”
