"George brings a wealth of experience and grounding in Stagecoach procedures alongside a passionate enthusiasm for developing the business and prioritising our staff and customers," said Chris Hanson, managing director of Stagecoach West, who himself previously held Sloan's new role.

"I look forward to seeing the amazing things George will deliver in this strategic role."

Sloan started on the Stagecoach graduate scheme in 2018, gaining his Level 3 Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence qualification with the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport.

Sloan said: "It is a privilege to be leading an excellent team of people who are passionate about bus services in our region.

"I’m thoroughly looking forward to working with our partners, and key stakeholders to deliver further improvements to bus services in the communities in which we serve."

Sloan will now lead the operations team across multiple Stagecoach West depots and outstations, overseeing around 450 vehicles and leading a team of more than 750 members of staff.
