Midlands mayors set to take to stage at UK Construction Week Birmingham
The UK’s biggest event for the built environment in October will feature Mayors of both the West Midlands and the East Midlands as keynote speakers.
UK Construction Week (UKCW) takes place at Birmingham’s NEC from October 1 to 3 this year and the pair - Richard Parker and Claire Ward - will speak at the 'Mayors’ Round Table: Delivering housing and infrastructure in the regions' talk.
"To secure not one but two of the UK’s regional mayors is a major coup for UKCW and we anticipate a lively discussion when they take to the stage," said Sam Patel, divisional director - construction.
"With such a diverse cross section of experienced professionals speaking at UKCW Birmingham, visitors are in for one of the most educational and insightful shows yet."
It will be the first time the mayors have spoken together on stage at an event since they were elected in May this year.
The show will officially be opened by architect and Channel 4 presenter, George Clarke.
It will feature over 200 exhibitors, 300 plus seminars, CPD sessions and workshops, and over 300 thought leaders and keynote speakers, visitors.
There will also be a plethora of educational, insightful and interactive areas, including the Main Stage, Digital Construction Hub, Live Demo Theatre, Skills & Training Hub and Culture Change Hub.
A new area to the show in response to industry demand, will be a roofing, cladding and insulation expo, showcasing the latest solutions, host thought leadership debates and discussions in the sector.
There is also 'Onsite On Hire' - a new hire industry showcase designed to show the very best tools, compact plant and equipment exhibitors.
The roundtable featuring the mayors will take place on Tuesday, October 1 from 11.30am to 12:15pm.
