Midlands entrepreneur scoops prestigious award
A Midlands entrepreneur has won international acclaim for his leadership.
David Ogden, founder of Worcester-based The Key Safe Company, has been named Most Innovative Key Security Solutions CEO (UK) in the Global CEO Excellence Awards 2024.
The awards recognise leaders who have demonstrated exceptional prowess, steering their organisations towards growth, innovation and success against the backdrop of a fast-moving business environment.
David said: “To be nominated for such a prestigious award was an honour and to win it, ahead of incredibly bright and talented peers in the sector, feels like a really big achievement and one I’m very proud of.”
David, who’s aiming to revolutionise the security industry with his products, has already made his mark in the social care sector.
He was also shortlisted for Maker & Creator Entrepreneur of the Year 2024 in the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, sometimes known as ‘the Grammys of Entrepreneurship’.
The Birmingham-born entrepreneur, who’s sold more than two million key safes worldwide since launching the business in 1996, also saw his company shortlisted for Business Innovation of the Year in this year’s North Worcestershire Business Awards.
The Key Safe Company, which designs, manufactures and sells police-preferred key safes and other access management products, was praised by organisers for making it to the finals of a category that attracted 86 entries.
Winners in each of the eight categories will be announced at a dinner at Hogarths Stone Manor Hotel near Kidderminster, on Thursday, November 21.
David said: “These award nominations really are testament to the exceptional team spirit we have built at The Key Safe Company.
“Everyone at the company is invested in what we do and why we do it.
“Many employees have worked here for a long time, including our wonderful Chief of Staff Natalie Ward, who recently celebrated her 26th work anniversary.
“That longevity speaks volumes for the culture we have created and this is paying off all in areas of the business, from product design and quality control to customer service and after-sales care.”
