Gatwick flight schedule beset by Covid
Some twenty flights in and out of Gatwick Airport were cancelled or delayed today as airlines and airport staffing is beset with staff shortages caused by covid-19.
In total 68 easyjet flights were scheduled to land or depart from Gatwick Airport on Monday.
Apologising for any inconvienience caused to travellers, Easy Jet spokesperson stated: "As a result of the current high rates of Covid infections across Europe, like all businesses easyJet is experiencing higher than usual levels of employee sickness."
In total the airline was forced to cancel some 200 plus flights nationwide over the weekend.
A number of flights to Spanish destinations from Gatwick had been cancelled on Saturday.
The issue is set to continue into the week, with some 60plus flights scheduled for Tuesday also cancelled. Travellers are advised to double check with carriers before travelling.
