Three Acre Brewery in East Sussex is making major investments ready for what looks to be a record-breaking year.

The team are putting money towards new machinery to bring ale production in line with growing consumer interest, with a third settling tank installed in the past few months.

Head brewer Jamie Newton said: “We’re seeing unprecedented demand for our hand-crafted beers and working hard to fulfil orders.

“Our Christmas trade was beyond all expectations, with a six-fold increase year-on-year as we saw buoyant sales to both pubs and direct sales in bottles, mini casks and beer boxes.”

Nor have things slowed down since, as the first week of February 2024 matched sales for the entire month of February 2023.

Chester Broad, marketing director at Three Acre Brewery, said: “It’s not just within Sussex that our beers are being enjoyed.

“Already this year we’ve supplied pubs as far away as Manchester and Norwich.

“All over the UK we’re seeing serious demand for our traditional recipes with a modern twist, with drinkers increasingly looking for craft quality.

“We’re ensuring that while increasing output we maintain quality.

“That’s the hardest but most crucial thing to do as a brewery scales its output, but we’ll make sure we don't miss a beat.”

And with a range of new beers planned for 2024, as well as a taproom in Uckfield, the future looks bright for Three Acre Brewery.
