Cirencester-based online induction software company, GetOnSite, has seen record growth since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Moving the health and safety induction process online has become a necessity, particularly for construction companies to help to comply with health and safety regulations and keep operating through the pandemic.

Founder and director, Sarah Fenwick, launched software provider GetOnSite in 2015. Sarah and the team designed and developed the platform to solve the problem of time lost carrying out manual, labour intensive inductions when contractors arrived on site.

During the lockdown period, businesses had to react quickly to keep development projects on track. Providing contractors with an online induction system, which eliminated the need for face-to-face meetings in crowded site offices, enabled companies to keep construction sites open.

Sarah said: “Construction is often criticised by being too slow to react to situations but with COVID-19 we have seen the opposite. Our clients have been quick to put procedures in place to safely keep their sites open. We have seen a huge increase in enquiries from companies wanting to move their inductions online as soon as possible – some in just 24 hours!”

During the last 12 months, by delivering more than 33,000 inductions online, the GetOnSite platform has contributed to clients saving more than 60 weeks of site managers’ time and £370,000 of inductees’ costs.

GetOnSite has expanded rapidly, experiencing 500 per cent year-over-year growth. The software is transferable across other industries, including the sports & leisure, recruitment, medical and events sectors, ramping up growth even faster. The expansion period has resulted in continued investment in the platform and the creation of jobs in customer service, sales and operational roles.
