British exporters and regional business leaders recognised in New Year Honours List 2022

The New Year Honours List 2022 has recognised business people from across the region for their exceptional service to business, international trade, investment, and exporting.
Those honoured this time around represent a diverse range of businesses, from retail industry through to the creative industry and government support to sourcing medical equipment and negotiating trade agreements.
Those honours with OBEs, include
Alex Burns, CEO, Robert Harter Ltd, Witney,Oxfordshire
Alex received his OBE for services to the UK Automotive Industry. He was CEO at Williams F1 for 11 years up until 2013. He's currently President of Millbrook, a key part of the automotive and transport industry in the UK best known for its wide variety of test tracks, it helps companies to develop more energy efficient powertrains and vehicles through testing and engineering services; and a senior adviser at LiNa. LiNa Energy is commercialising a lithium-free, cobalt-free solid state sodium battery with the potential to provide low cost energy storage for numerous static and mobile applications.
This busy man is also a part time chairperson at London-based Flexion Energy, which develops, builds, owns and operates energy storage assets in the UK, specifically large-scale batteries connected to and servicing the grid.
