Reading-based law firm Boyes Turner said it had expanded its 27-strong Court of Protection (CoP) team with the appointment of a new partner.

Sue Bowler has more than two decades' of experience and acted as a professional deputy for many brain injured clients, both adults and children, and managed significant high value compensation awards.

She is an expert in financial abuse cases, made successful applications for care funding, overseen large care packages, purchased and adapted properties for clients with disabilities, and been appointed as the Litigation Friend by the Court of Protection and made various stand-alone applications to the Court.

Before joining Boyes Turner, she was national head of the Court of Protection team at a national law firm.

Ruth Meyer, partner and head of Court of Protection at Boyes Turner, said: "As one of the largest CoP teams in the South, we’ve grown at a rapid rate.

"Sue’s outstanding experience and input will be critical to this next chapter for the team, both in terms of how we develop and enhance the essential work we do for our clients, and how we mentor, support and grow our highly dedicated team. Sue has an absolute love for the work she does - we’re lucky to have her."

Bowler added: "Boyes Turner’s CoP team is so highly regarded - their comprehensive expertise, professionalism and astute management of clients’ best interests, together with an approachable, down-to-earth and compassionate way of reaching practical solutions for clients. I’m thrilled to be working alongside Ruth and the rest of team."
