Berkshire’s accesso mourns loss of ‘outstanding’ CFO Fern MacDonald
Berkshire-based accesso Technology Group has announced the loss of its chief financial officer (CFO) Fern MacDonald following an ‘unflinching battle’ with cancer.
“On behalf of the board I would like to express my sincere condolences to Fern’s family,” said Bill Russell, non-executive chairman of accesso.
“Quite apart from being a model CFO, she was an outstanding person whose contribution to the company was immeasurable.
“She will be sorely missed by all.”
Matthew Boyle, the group’s current VP finance, served two years as Fern’s deputy. He will assume the role of interim CFO as the team mourn her loss.
Steve Brown, CEO of accesso, added: “We’re heartbroken at the passing of Fern, our beloved colleague and dear friend.
“Her commitment to her work and dedication to our team inspired all of us to strive for excellence.
“On a personal level, she was my trusted advisor with incredible intelligence and unmatched determination.
“She faced this health challenge with the same unyielding courage and strength that we all admired in her.
“I feel fortunate to have worked alongside her and she will be profoundly missed.
“Our hearts go out to her husband, son, and her entire family.”
