Outdoor pursuits brand Berghaus has chosen the Gloucester Quays shopping centre as the location for its second UK standalone store.

The 2,117 sq ft store has opened opposite Adidas at the 60-acre Gloucester Quays development, offering its gear to the South West in a standalone store for the first time.

The opening of the new Berghaus store follows a trio of signings from world-famous F&B brands at the outlet, including Pret a Manger, and the commitment of Subway and Krispy Kreme.

"Berghaus is the latest in a series of top retailers that have committed to Gloucester Quays over the last 12 months and is exactly the calibre of brand that the outlet has become known for," said Paul Carter, asset director at Peel Retail & Leisure.

"Our dynamic line-up of outdoor-wear options is by design, with each new arrival responding to the needs of our catchment, and the opening of Berghaus’s second-ever UK standalone store and brand-new store concept will add even more diversity."

Adam Gill, head of sales UK & Ireland for Pentland Brands, added: "Gloucester Quays is a top outlet, and the combination of its proximity to the Cotswolds and an urban hub means it is the ideal location for our second UK site.

"We have lots that will appeal to visitors, including our latest ranges of products and a brand-new store concept that marks the beginning of Berghaus’ new retail strategy."

Peel Retail & Leisure owns and manages 12 million sq ft of property and 20,000 acres of land and water across the UK, with a total portfolio value of more than £2.5 billion.
