Basingstoke Post Office and convenience store sold
An established convenience store and Post Office in Basingstoke, Hampshire has been sold to experienced retailers, property advisor Christie & Co has revealed.
The Watson Way Post Office was owned and operated by the same couple for 25 years, who now plan to retire.
The site, which benefits from a loyal customer base and regular passing trade, was sold following a competitive bidding process and purchased by experienced retailers, who are looking to modernise the business in the near future, said Christie & Co.
James Matson, senior business agent at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, noted: "It was a pleasure to facilitate this sale for our clients and I wish them all the best in their well-earned retirement.
"I wish the new owners every success and I am sure they will look after the customers just as the previous owners did for so many years.
This sale generated a great deal of interest amongst the market and our registered buyers, with over eight offers received," he added.
"This is yet another deal where the bids went over the guide price and is a prime example of the buoyant convenience store market in the South of England."
