Immigration law firm, Migrate UK in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, has grown its team with the appointment of paralegal, Hermanpreet Kaur, as business continues to accelerate post-Brexit.

The introduction of the new UK immigration system at the start of the year has seen a surge in enquires to the Milton-Park based law firm, with organisations seeking the team’s specialist immigration advice and support to navigate the new complex Points Based System and rule

Hermanpreet, who holds a Masters in Law, will be assisting the team at Migrate UK on a variety of immigration matters including research and customer relationship management.

Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a legal intern at various start-up companies and was a casework volunteer at Migrants Organise where she worked with a legal team assisting on immigration applications.

“I’ve always had a profound interest in immigration law due to its ever-changing nature and the uniqueness of each case,” said Hermanpreet. “Every case is extremely personal to the individuals looking to establish their lives or businesses in a different country, and for organisations wanting to grow their workforce with the help of overseas skills. It’s great to be part of the Migrate UK team, to be able to help individuals and organisations live and work legally in the UK.”

Jonathan Beech, Managing Director of Migrate UK, added: “Hermanpreet is a great addition to the team. She has a real passion for customer care which is important in immigration law as often cases can be complex and stressful for the organisation or individual. This is especially so since the end of free movement and changes to the immigration rules at the start of this year, which continue to evolve like the arrival of the new Graduate Route from 1st July 2021 and the elite or ‘scientific superstar’ visa expected next year. Compliance is becoming increasingly more complex as we’ve seen from the rise in enquiries into the firm and with Hermanpreet’s support, we can help more people and organisations.”
